Day 2: still in Stockholm

After all the fuss about the Hotel room and size and ventilation and suitability only for backpackers,  we are in the upgraded room which is slightly bigger but with a really bad bathroom where the toilet is in the shower and vice versa. Water water everywhere .  BUT GREAT LOCATION.

With little time left for me in Stockholm, we did what one does in Sweden and went to the ABBA museum ( der).     Somewhat underwhelming as I found it difficult to get into the spirit, having arrived in Sweden after a 23 hour flight, only a few hours ago.  Paul however had no trouble getting into the spirit, (not what you think, that was later) And got up on stage and sang dancing queen. I stood there and tried to do the Dance steps but I have to admit Paul's singing was better than my dancing. afterwards, we walked around a bit, caught some trains, went places, drank expensive beer, but it was all a bit of a blur.
The museum is on an island and we got there by boat which was really good and continues our thing with water. I only took a couple of photos as am really out of practice.

Anyway that evening we had dinner with our Swedish neighbour's family, Karen,  Eda and Steena (who is almost family as she is soon to live (in sin) with our nephew, which makes her our niece in law, I think).

We went to the Hairy Pig, where we had pig.  In fact we had a sausage on a bun with some tapas. A great combination and yummy. A really nice night catching up with Karen and Eda and Steena.  Karen particularly has been showing Paul around for the last couple of days whilst on his own.  Very
kind of her.

After our farewells, we took the train back to the worst hotel ever but it was really close to the train and all the attractions. It was really well located which is how I picked it, on its location, not amenity.

Don't know what all the fuss was about.

  1. Hello gab. The hotel sounds ok........ I'm sure the location is great and you therefore don't care that the toilet is in shower and visa versa. Keep your blogs coming as they are very entertaining.
