Today is Saturday, 22/8 and it is hot and sunny. We are Going to walk to Westminster abbey today.
We are amazed at the heat and sun in London today. We have both applied suntan lotion, can you believe it?
On our way we went past Trafalgar Square, so close we call it our square, then down Whitehall st past the Houses of Parliament and number 10. Can't reply get close to no. 10. Not at all like Love Actually when Hugh grant was prime minister. ( I look for him wherever we are as he is in London somewhere and so are we so surely there is a chance. Shirley)

Then I think we got to Westminister Abbey
I have a bad feeling I have mixed up the photos. I blame the poor technology of the iPad and its poor synchronization with blogger. Sorry if I don't have the photos perfectly right. Blame Steve.
St.
This might be Trafalgar Square, so confusing.
After the long walk to Westminister Abbey, we decide it would be a good idea to walk to St Paul's cathedral where Charles and Diana got married (only reason)
It is a long way but I decide to walk along the Thames river on the Victorian embankment which sounds lovely and is for the first few hundred meters after which it becomes the )$&@& embankment and how much further can it possibly be????
I have the map and am focused on the quickest route there while Paul says he is happy to keep walking around until he finds it. After an hour or so of walking, I see some bikes that can be rented and for a few seconds, I seriously think that we should get the bikes as surely that would be faster and easier.
After he stopped his hysterical laughter, Paul said no, not a good idea and we continue walking up the Thames. Maybe we could swim???
Paul wants me to note that he climbed the Duomo at St Paul's, he says it was 800 steps and not an easy climb. I say, seen one Duomo, you have seen them all and declined the climb.
After another long trek back to the hotel, Paul can no longer even pretend it is a 'walk for exercise, damn it' type walk as I am so slow, he is walking At least a meter ahead of me at a slow for him pace. We fit in well in a London with major Arab influences, as we did in Dubai. I walk respectfully ( and slowly) behind my husband.
That night we do the wine a cheese buffet (free)
Instead of dinner. We are tired and wine, wine, cheese and ice cream seem like a gooD idea.
